Our general privacy awareness training course covers the key concepts of privacy so that it is encompasses the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other laws worldwide. The package includes the use of our GDPR and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) whiteboards (succinct and clear 1-page overviews of each law), as well as 6 cartoons of your choosing to enliven your privacy training awareness campaign.

The Privacy Training Essentials Plus Package includes the following courses and resources:

Global Privacy and Data Protection Choose whichever version works best: 12 min, 20 min, 25 min, or 30 min. This course is designed to provide basic privacy awareness to the workforce of global organizations. The program focuses on key concepts of privacy common across international jurisdictions as well as explains areas where approaches to privacy diverge. This course covers the key rights and obligations under GDPR.
CCPA 15 minute version or 10 minute version This course provides a short introduction to the CCPA. The course explains the key rights and obligations under the CCPA.
CCPA Interactive Whiteboard 5 minutes This program is an interactive whiteboard that summarizes the CCPA succinctly. This program is based on our CCPA whiteboard poster and handout. It can readily be used on internal websites to raise awareness and teach basic information about the CCPA. It can also be used in a learning management system.
GDPR 7 minutes The GDPR training course provides a brief introduction to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The course discusses the scope and applicability of the GDPR, the basic terminology of the law, the rights it provides to persons in the EU, and the responsibilities it imposes on organizations. The course explains the importance of compliance with the GDPR and discusses how the GDPR is enforced as well as its very strict penalties, which include fines of up to 4% of total annual worldwide turnover.
GDPR Interactive Whiteboard 5 minutes This program is an interactive whiteboard that summarizes the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) succinctly. This program is based on our GDPR whiteboard poster and handout. It can readily be used on internal websites to raise awareness and provide GDPR training. It can also be used in a learning management system.
Privacy by Design 15 minutes This module is an advanced training module for engineers and designers of programs, software, websites, and other products or services that could implicate privacy. The module is also useful for the entire privacy compliance team. This training module aims to provide clear and concrete guidance about how to design for privacy. Professor Solove uses his well-known taxonomy of privacy to explain how to identify the various privacy issues that might arise with new products or services.
Vendor Management: Sharing Data With Third Parties 8 minutes This course covers vendor management when data is shared with third party vendors. The course discusses: (1) the risks of sharing data with third party vendors; (2) the importance of using due diligence in selecting third parties; (3) the organization’s ongoing responsibility to protect the data even when in the hands of third parties; (4) the specific kinds of issues that should be considered when selecting a third party vendor; and (5) the types of protections that should be in the contract with the vendor.
Privacy, Risk and Trust 5 minutes Our short course, Privacy, Risk, and Trust , is a highly-interactive introduction to why protecting privacy is important. The course promotes privacy awareness by discussing the risks to organizations in failing to protect privacy and how protecting privacy fosters trust and improves relationships with people.
Privacy Principles 4 minutes This short privacy training course focuses on what protecting people’s privacy entails. It provides an overview of the basic FIPPs and explains why they matter. The course offers concrete guidance to workforce members about how they should collect, use, store, and protect personally identifiable information (PII) or personal data.
Defining Personal Info 8 minutes Defining what personal information is — and being able to identify it — is essential for privacy awareness training because privacy laws and regulations are triggered if personal information is involved. Personal information can be a tricky concept because it is sometimes contingent and contextual. This PII training course is an overview of how to identify personal information. It explains clearly and understandably what personal information is and how to approach identifying it.
