CISO Security Professionals Security Training

by Daniel J. Solove

According to a study, the number of cybersecurity job listings increased 74% from 2007 to 2013.  This was more than double the growth rate of IT jobs.

In a survey earlier this year of ISACA members, 86% stated that there is a “global shortage of skilled cybersecurity professionals.”

According to a salary survey, CISO salaries climbed 7.1% in the past year, from a range of between about $126,000 – $190,000 to a range between $134,000 – $205,000.

Not only is security enjoying big growth, but privacy is also growing quite dramatically.  A study by IAPP found significant growth among Chief Privacy Officer salaries:

Since 2003, the first year the IAPP fielded one of its salary surveys, the mean base salary has increased from $101,146 to $152,136. The U.S. has shown the most significant growth in mean base salary in recent years, from $123,661 in 2012 to $163,170 in 2015.
